The amazing beaches and year-round warm climate are almost enough reason to visit the Sunshine Coast. But it’s the ‘what else’ that is starting to capture the attention of visitors to the region.
Just a short 30 min drive from the Coast and you find yourself in the beautiful Hinterland region which is home to many local farms and producers. The local region has become a recognised food hub with awarding winning producers such as Woombye Cheese, Little White Goat Cheese, Maleny Dairies & Hum Honey.
The Big Pineapple is in the process of having a complete make over with plans of being a tourist hub once again with a strong focus on showcasing local produce. With COYO yoghurt already setting up their headquarters, along with Montville Coffee and more to follow there will be plenty to explore and experience.
The local craft beer scene has also boomed in the area with 14 breweries now operating between Caloundra, Noosa, and Maleny. All of them offering their own unique range of beers and most of them with restaurants attached all in a child friendly environment. Check out a full list of breweries here.
Check out a range of tours to local breweries, wineries, distilleries and local foodie experiences with Creative Tours & Events, including their Hinterland Farm to Fork Experience.
Hinterland Farm to Fork Experience
On this local experience you are taken behind the scenes of private farms to meet local producers, hear their stories, and sample the amazing local produce of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Visit a local coffee roaster and two local farms, making a final stop at Brouhaha Brewery and Restaurant for a delicious four-course lunch featuring local produce.
Your lunch includes fresh seasonal local produce from the farms we visited earlier in the day and is expertly paired with a range of beer styles brewed on-site at Brouhaha. We are joined at lunch by the chef and brewer, who share the local stories behind the food and beer.
