Local Dining at its Finest
Coolum Surf Club
Located at the southern end of the Coolum Beach Esplanade, the Coolum Surf Club has been patrolling the beach and serving locals since 1919. Serving lunch and dinner 7-days a week the surf club is the only surf club in Australia to feature a genuine wood-fired char-grill. Enjoy the smokey taste of local produce cooked over the ironbark fueled coal pit while taking in the impressive beach views. With vegetarian, gluten, and dairy-free options available, there’s something for everyone at this Coolum Beach restaurant.
An Experience Not to Miss
Sunrise or Sunset atop Mt. Coolum
There’s something surreal about witnessing the sunset or sunrise after you’ve made the trek up a mountain. The trials and tribulations of getting there make the view seem just that little bit extra special. While Mt. Coolum is certainly not one of Australia’s tallest mountains standing at only 208m above sea-level, it does, however, offer some breathtaking 360-degree views of the coastal area including Point Cartwright and the Glass House Mountains. Better suited for relatively fit-walkers as there are steep, rocky sections, climbing this dome-shaped mountain is a short 1.6 km return trip that on average takes about 2-hours and is one of the Sunshine Coast’s ‘not-to-miss’ experiences.
